Al Ghubrah Power and Desalination Company (GPDCo) SAOC - is a member of Nama Group of Nama Holding Company (EHC), whose assets are wholly government owned and operates under the normal executive controls as required by ministerial process. The company operates as a competitive ‘Licensed Generating Company’ and operations are governed by the provision of the Law for the Regulation and Privatization of the Electricity and related Water Sector, known as Sector Law - promulgated by Royal Decree 78/2004. GPDCo operates, maintains, owns the plant located at the Ghubrah facility and 99.99% of the shares are owned by Electricity Holding Company SAOC (EHC), which in turn is 100% government owned with 0.01% share held by the Ministry of Finance. The company is engaged in the generation of electricity and the desalination of water under a license issued by the Authority for Electricity Regulation, Oman.
